Spartanburg – Judson Noah Seay, Jr., age 86, passed away on June 29, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital. He is the last surviving sibling of his family.
Mr. Seay was born in Spartanburg County on May 3, 1924 to the late Judson Noah and Annie Solsbee Seay. He was a Staff Sergeant in the Medical Core with the United States Army during World War II, stationed in Burma, India. Mr. Seay played baseball in the Textile League and he coached and umpired Little League Baseball. He was a member of Fairforest Baptist Church where he served as general secretary and usher and was also a member of the Young at Heart and the K. E. Fain Sunday School Class. Mr. Seay was employed with Fairforest Finishing Company for 27 years and retired from Tietex International. He was an avid USC Gamecock fan.
Surviving are his wife, Emma L. Seay of 60 years; one son, Judson N. Seay, III of Moore, SC; four grandchildren, Kelly Seay Crowe and her husband Samuel of Summerville, SC, Connor, Abbie and Claire Seay all of Gaffney, SC and one great grandson Noah Samuel Crowe.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 3:45 pm on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Fairforest Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Fairforest Baptist Church by Reverend Kermit R. Morris, Reverend Don Greene and Reverend Joe Dempsey. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In remembrance of Mr. Seay, memorial contributions may be made to the Fairforest Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 338, Fairforest, SC 29336.
