Roebuck – Bobby Ray Maynard Cole, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 9, 2010.
Born on July 27, 1930, Mr. Cole was a son of the late Charles R. and Stella Parham Cole. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from age 15-22. Mr. Cole achieved recognition as the International Sales Champion for Interstate Engineering, Compact division. He was the owner and operator of his own business for many years. Mr. Cole was a member of Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church in Roebuck.
Mr. Cole is survived by his wife, Caroline, of more than 38 years; four daughters, Donna Ingram (Mike) of Palm City, FL, Charlotte Wilson (Mark) of Roebuck, Barbara Cole of Harrisburg, PA, and Stella Cole and her fiancé, Wes Davis of Asheville, NC; one son, Charles B. Cole (Carmen) of Palm City, FL; two grandsons, Rob and Jack Wilson of Roebuck; two sisters, Peggy Coyne and Grace Rose, both of Ohio; and one brother, Olin D. Cole of Ohio. He was predeceased by two brothers, Paul Caldwell and Charles Cole; and four sisters, Ada Mae Flowers, Gliness Stevenson, Cora Lee Cole and Shirley Cole.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church Cemetery at 4:00 PM on Friday, March 12, 2010.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 12, 2010, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church.
A celebration of Mr. Cole’s life will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 1:00 PM at Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church.
In memory of Mr. Cole, the family requests memorials be made to Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 1399 Walnut Grove Road, Roebuck, SC 29376; the Alzheimer’s Association, 901 S. Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302, or to a charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Scott Coley, Dr. Mohammed Memon, and Spartanburg Regional Hospice for the care given to Mr. Cole.
