James W. “Bill” Coggins (July 22, 1935 – February 16, 2010)

Clifton, S.C. – James W. “Bill” Coggins, age 74, beloved husband of Sylvia Maynor Coggins, went home to be with Jesus on February 16, 2010. He was the oldest son of Belton “Belt” and Marie Vaughn Coggins.

Mr. Coggins served in the United States Air Force for over thirteen years. He retired from Beaumont Mills and later, Dollar General. Mr. Coggins was an avid baseball fan. His favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves. He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife of fifty-five years, Mr. Coggins is survived by two daughters, Pamela Coggins Bagwell and Sherrie Ann and husband David Johnson; four grandsons, Heath Bagwell, Bryan and Laura Johnson, Philip and Keaton Johnson, and Nicholas and Brittany Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Savannah and A.J. Bagwell; a sister, Nancy Sue and husband Bob Ostrowski of Enon, Ohio; a brother, John Joseph and wife, Glenda of Witchita Falls, TX.; two aunts, Carrie Mae Wilson and Earlene Sellars. He was predeceased by a beloved great-grandson, Jacob Tucker Bagwell and a brother, Robert “Bob” Coggins.

A visitation will be held today, February 19, 2010, from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at Dunbar Funeral Home.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will follow the visitation at 11:00 A.M. at Sunset Memorial Gardens conducted by the Reverend Travis Blackwell.
