Elma L. Brown (June 7, 1927 – July 25, 2010)

Spartanburg – Elma L. Brown, wife of James “Jim” C. Brown, died July 25, 2010.

Mrs. Brown was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and the Joy Sunday School Class.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Steve Brown and a daughter, Starr Jameson both of Spartanburg and a sister, Peggy Henderson of Charleston, SC. Mrs. Brown was blessed with five grandchildren; Jackie Wampler, Chris Quinn, Katie Crosby, Stephen Brown all of Spartanburg and Holly Smith of Brookings, OR and seven great-grandchildren.

Annetta Kay Phillips (November 8, 1953 – July 15, 2010)

Spartanburg, S.C. – Annetta Kay Ruppe Phillips age 56, beloved wife of William Harold Phillips, passed away July 15, 2010 at home.

Born November 8, 1953 in Gaffney, SC, she was a daughter of the late Hoyle Andrew and Charlotte Ann Reynolds Ruppe. Kay was a graduate of Cedar Spring School, class of 1975 and a member of Roebuck Church of God. She will be remembered as a first class wife, and loving mother and grandmother.

Anthony Walter Bassano (November 16, 1948 – July 17, 2010)

Moore – Anthony w. Bassano, died Saturday, July 17, 2010 at his home.

Born in Olean, NY, Mr. Bassano was the son of Louis A. and Lena A. Bassano and the late Loretta Rayan. He honorably served in the U.S. Army in the Natick, MA, research lab. Mr. Bassano attended Bishop Walsh High School, West Chester State University, PA, and St. Bonaventure University, Olean, NY. Formerly of MA, he moved to Spartanburg six years ago and worked at Vic Bailey Ford and Dave Edwards Toyota.

Thomas Franklin “Frank” Benedict (March 9, 1925 – July 18, 2010)

Roebuck, SC – Thomas Franklin “Frank” Benedict, 85, passed away July 18, 2010 in Greenville, SC.

Born in Spartanburg, Mr. Benedict was a son of the late Delouie and Sallie A. Wall Benedict and the husband of 58 years to the late Eleanor Ayers Benedict. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII where he served with the Seabees in Europe and Asia and was a member of VFW Post 9539. Mr. Benedict worked in the finance business in Spartanburg for 11 years prior to joining the S.C. Board of Bank Control, Consumer Affairs Division as an investigator and examiner from which he retired after 29 years.

Monica Jarrett Senn (January 7, 1964 – July 11, 2010)

Spartanburg – Monica Jarrett Senn, age 46, beloved wife of Doug Senn, died suddenly Sunday, July 11, 2010.

Monica was born January 7, 1964 in Ft. Knox, KY to Harold and Linda Vinson Jarrett. She was a member of New Hope Methodist Church in Jonesville, SC.

In addition to her husband and parents, Monica is survived by two sons, Austin Senn of Spartanburg and Chris Henderson of Clayton, GA; a daughter, Sarah Senn and two brothers, Bryan Jarrett (Amy) and Scott Jarrett all of Jonesville, SC.

Renee Lawson Cothran (March 4, 1956 – July 9, 2010)

Spartanburg – Renee Lawson Cothran, age 54, died suddenly Thursday, July 8, 2010 at home.

Renee was born on March 4, 1956 in Spartanburg to the late Audrey Lawson and Jewell Fowler Willard. She was a graduate of Cowpens High School, class of ’73 and was formerly employed with Spartan Food Systems and Advance America. Renee served as a past president of Spartanburg County PTA. She sang with the “Beacon Light Singers” and was a member of New Hope Outreach Church.

Francis Bratton deLoach, Jr. (October 11,1950 – July 3, 2010)

Spartanburg – Francis Bratton deLoach, Jr., son of Tommie O’Dell deLoach and the late Francis Bratton deLoach, Sr., died Saturday, July 3, 2010.

Born October 11, 1950 in Columbia, SC, Mr. deLoach was a graduate of Spartanburg High School and Clemson University. He was of the Episcopal faith.

In addition to his mother, Mr. deLoach is survived by a son, Richard Blake deLoach of Winterpark, FL; and two sisters, Dell Kirkpatrick and her husband Dave of Spartanburg, SC and Patty Bush and her husband, Al of Easley, SC, and the mother of Blake, Mrs. Linda deLoach Boesel. He was predeceased by a brother, Tom deLoach and a sister, Polly deLoach.
