Warren G. Cole (November 30, 1922 – February 16, 2010)

Spartanburg – Warren G. Cole, age 87, beloved husband of Mae Rist Cole, passed away February 16, 2010.

Warren was a son of the late Elmer and Marjorie Evans Cole. He was a member of DeFuniak Elks Club, The First Baptist Church of DeFuniak Springs, FL, and he faithfully served in the United States Army.

In addition to his wife, Warren is survived by a daughter; Marjorie Roberts of Moore, a brother; Donald Cole and his wife Mary of Towacco, NJ, a sister; Milliscent Fisher and her husband Kenneth of Oak Ridge, NJ, three grandchildren; Jon Pedersen and his wife Ruby of Toccoa, GA, Daniel Pedersen and his wife Michelle of Lyman, Cody Roberts of Spartanburg.

Frances Suder Richard (January 1, 1956 – February 22, 2010)

Spartanburg – Frances Suder Richard, age 54, beloved wife of John Clifton Richard, passed away February 22, 2010.

Mrs. Richard was born on January 1, 1956 in Levittown, PA to John Suder and the late Barbara Floyd Suder. She was previously employed with Adidas in the purchasing department; she was the secretary for the Temple B’Nai Israel and was a member of the Catholic Church of Jesus Our Risen Savior.

James Edward West (February 20, 1928 – February 18, 2010)

Pacolet, SC – James Edward West, age 81, husband of the late Lillie Mae Poole West, passed away on February 19, 2010.

Mr. West was born February 20, 1928 to the late Bernard and Laura Howell West. He was a Mason and Shriner at the 228 Trough Shoals Lodge. Mr. West was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. West is survived by a son, Larry Eugene West of Spartanburg; a daughter, Amber Dill (Cliff) of Jonesville, SC; and three sisters, Shirley Jones, Dot Freeman and Joanne Fleming all of Pacolet. He was blessed with six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. West was predeceased by a son, Mike E. West and a brother, Wilbern West.

Timothy Ray Smith (August 2, 1958 – February 18, 2010)

Pauline, S.C. – Timothy Ray Smith, age 51, beloved husband of Tammy Samuels Smith, died suddenly, Thursday, February 18, 2010.

Born in Spartanburg on August 2, 1958, Tim was the son of Mildred “Coot” Holder Martin and Marshall Ray. Tim honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He was an Eagle Scout and a 33rd Degree Mason with Calhoun 81 AFM Lodge, Pauline, S.C. Tim was a member of the Covenant Sunday School Class and Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church.

James W. “Bill” Coggins (July 22, 1935 – February 16, 2010)

Clifton, S.C. – James W. “Bill” Coggins, age 74, beloved husband of Sylvia Maynor Coggins, went home to be with Jesus on February 16, 2010. He was the oldest son of Belton “Belt” and Marie Vaughn Coggins.

Mr. Coggins served in the United States Air Force for over thirteen years. He retired from Beaumont Mills and later, Dollar General. Mr. Coggins was an avid baseball fan. His favorite teams were the Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves. He was of the Baptist faith.

Keith Leroy Tirrell (May 6, 1948 – February 18, 2010)

Moore, SC – Keith Leroy Tirrell, age 61, beloved husband of Debbie Suttles Tirrell, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 18, 2010, after a long courageous fight with cancer.

Keith was born in Ogden, Utah on May 6, 1948. He was the son of Ruth Virginia Dannehl and the late Vernal Leroy Tirrell. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Moore.

Margaret Renaldo Rickard (May 15, 1917 – February 17, 2010)

Spartanburg – Margaret Renaldo Rickard, age 92, wife of the late Ragnar Rickard, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at Eden Terrace.

Margaret was the daughter of the late Charles and Selma Helberg Rinaldo. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was the church historian and member of the UMW. Margaret did hand work of all types for many years and was a judge of hand work for the Piedmont Interstate Fair. She was a member of the Rosewood Garden Club and Homemaker of the year of the FCL Homemakers Club.

Haskell O. “Patti” Bryant (November 15, 1915 – February 16, 2010)

Spartanburg – Haskell O. (Patti) Bryant of 400 Webber Road, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at White Oaks Estate.

Mrs. Bryant was born in Langdale, Ala. on November 15, 1915. She was the widow of Delmas Lee Bryant, and was the last living member of her five brothers and one sister. She was predeceased by one daughter, Evanthia Jean Beahm of San Diego, CA.

Mrs. Bryant is survived by her daughter; Shirley T. Seegars and her husband, James E. Seegars, Jr. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

E. Earleen Walker (June 15, 1925 – February 16, 2010)

Spartanburg – Ethel Earleen Watson Walker, age 84, wife of the late Laurence Walker, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 16, 2010.

Mrs. Walker was born in Greenville, SC on June 15, 1925 to the late Harley and Minnie Lee James Watson. She was a very active member of Bethany Baptist Church of Spartanburg where she was a past vice president and treasurer of the Sunshine Sunday School class and a member of the Young at Heart Club.

Sigrid Axford (September 16, 1945 – February 11, 2010)

Spartanburg, S.C. – Sigrid Axford, age 64, passed away February 11, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born September 16, 1945 in Hamburg, Germany, she was a daughter of the late Joachim and Wilma Daeschner Minx. Ms. Axford’s life accomplishments included building a multi-million dollar company, HSGM, Inc. located in Greer, SC, without a college degree. Her passion was raising championship Collie, Great Dane and Newfoundland show dogs and enjoying her grandchildren. She was of the Lutheran faith.
