Spartanburg – Clifford Barron “Barry” Hayes III, 52, son of the late Mary Love Cates Hayes and John Edward Rollins Hayes II died at his home in New York on Saturday, August 28, 2010.
A native of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Barry is survived by his brothers, John Edward Rollins Hayes, Jr. and wife Sally and Robert Cates Hayes and wife Glorian of Spartanburg, SC. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Love Cates Hayes, Jr. Barry is also survived by Stephen Thomas Fick, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends who will miss him terribly and always remember him for his selfless love and gentle nature.

Spartanburg – David Frankie Morgan, age 21, died Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare.
Born May 11, 1989 in Spartanburg, David was the son of David Wayne Morgan and Anna Mae Moore Morgan Pless. He attended Dorman High School and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, David is survived by a sister, Ashley Ann Smith of Campobello, his paternal grandmother, Martha Morgan Bartlett and his fiancée, Robin M. Green.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Dunbar Funeral Home.

Pauline, SC – James “Jimmy” Rudolph Wofford, age 61, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital after a long battle with cancer.
Jimmy was born on March 19, 1949 in Spartanburg to the late Cecil and Mamie Ruth Littlefield Wofford. He is survived by an adopted daughter, Amber Garrett Bradley and her husband, Andrew; a grandson, James Audie Bradley and a number of cousins.

Roebuck, SC – Charles Edward Millwood, beloved husband of Joyce Emily Bullman Millwood, died Thursday, August 19, 2010.
Charlie was born on December 2, 1951 in Spartanburg to the late Gerald Dewight Millwood and Dorothy Sue Garrett. He honorably served in the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith. Charlie was an avid NASCAR fan and loved his Shih Tzu, Ginger.
In addition to his wife of 35 years, Charlie is survived by two daughters, Doris E. Perez and Janice A. Martin; two brothers, Kenneth and Wayne Millwood; a sister, Sherry Yancy and a grandson, Bristan Norton. He was predeceased by a sister, Diane Bullman.

Spartanburg – David Scott Burnett, age 32, son of the late David Roy and Shirley Pike Burnett, died August 22, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Scott was a graduate of Dorman High School, class of ’96 and a graduate of Greenville Technical College with a degree in Auto Mechanics. He attended Westgate Free Will Baptist Church, where he enjoyed playing on the softball team. Scott loved the outdoors and his gift was helping people. Everyone that knew him considered him family.

Spartanburg – Edith Kirby Turney, age 86, beloved wife of Luther Earl Turney, died peacefully at home on Saturday, August 21, 2010.
Born in Spartanburg on March 22, 1924, Mrs. Turney was a daughter of the late John Henry and Dovie Gardner Kirby, Jr. She was of the Presbyterian faith.
In addition to her husband of 69 years, Mrs. Turney is survived by two sons, Kenneth Turney and wife, Anna of Jalapa, SC and David Turney and wife, Mona of Spartanburg; a brother, J.H. Kirby and his wife, Norma of Spartanburg; a sister, Ada Sammons of Spartanburg; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren, four nieces and nephews; seven grand nieces and nephews; and nine great-grand nieces and nephews.

Spartanburg – Virgie Ereleen Seay Towery, age 81, beloved wife of John Vernon Towery, died Thursday, August 19, 2010.
Born in Spartanburg on June 17, 1929, Mrs. Towery was a daughter of the late Albert Franklin and Rosa McAbee Seay. She was a lifelong member of Canaan Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband of 60 years, Mrs. Towery is survived by two sisters, Monie Seay Riddle of Boiling Springs and Dorothy Seay Dill of Roebuck; and two brothers, Allen and Larry Seay both of Spartanburg.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 20, 2010, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home.

Moore – Louis Anthony Bassano, beloved husband of Lena Bailey Bassano died Friday, August 13, 2010.
Born on May 3, 1927 in Olean, NY, Mr. Bassano was the son of the late Antonio and Angelina Ambrose Bassano. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy, retired as plant manager of Dresser Industries, and was a member of Jesus, Our Risen Savior Catholic Church.
In addition to his wife of 52 years, Mr. Bassano is survived by; two daughters, Lora A. Bassano and Melody A. Allen of Moore; a brother, Anthony Bassano (Jean) of NY; and a grandson, David A. Bassano of MA. He was predeceased by his son, Anthony Walter Bassano.

Spartanburg, SC – William Edward Kaler, age 79 died Friday, August 13, 2010 at his home.
Born in North Port, Long Island, Mr. Kaler was a son of the late Thomas Lester and Sylvia Francis Veronica Anderson Kaler. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Kaler was employed for many years with Structofab in Lansdale, Penn. In 1984, he was transferred to the Spartanburg area as Plant Manager for Structofab. Mr. Kaler was of the Catholic faith.
